This fabric was donated to me a couple of years ago and I've been DYING to make a jacket out of it. But every time I pulled it out, there wasn't enough fabric (I kept hoping that maybe it had grown), and then I saw the pink (also a donated fabric) and it was meant to be!
The bias binding on the wrists, front and neckline has been finished by hand - no machine stitching visible!
I think of this as a sort of open jacket / over - shirt hybrid. It's unlined and has no fastenings, so it's the perfect piece to just throw over whatever you're wearing (I think it'd look fab over a flouncy dress in the summer!) And, because it's open, it suits a variety of shapes and sizes!
The pattern was drafted from a men's block, to give a relaxed fit.
It is machine washable (I've washed it at 30 with no trouble), but I would advise spot cleaning as much as possible, as the fabrics are upholstery fabrics and so not designed for regular machine washing.
*as this is made from older fabrics, there may be small imperfections in the fabric, these do not detract from the piece and will have been accounted for in the pricing*
